Opening Day Tomorrow!

The clinic opens tomorrow! It's been a crazy time getting things ready, and I was there over 12 hours today, but it is finally coming together. Miss Piper came to work with me today so we could practice on her. She got her shots and a microchip so if she ever runs away if she makes it to a vet clinic or shelter, they'll know who she is. She was, as usual, the worst patient ever - she peed on Sarpong and Stephanie, knocked the delicate microchip scanner on the floor and took a swipe at Sarpong's face (luckily missed!). Kathryn's dog Noah was also a test patient today...the poor thing tested our anesthesia machine (thankfully working fine) and got to be my first doggie dental patient. Our other noble animal was Murphy, brought in by Mom and Dad so they could see the place, and Murphy let me work my anal gland expressing magic (another new skill) and trim his nails.

So, we open tomorrow and hopefully some people make their way through the door. Mostly we'll be getting more organized though. Kathryn said she'd be happy if we got a couple clients tomorrow.

I work through Thursday, then I get Friday off (our shifts are long enough we don't necessarily work 5 days a week). This Friday Matt and I are going to Six Flags to use our brand new season passes! That is something I've always wanted to have just to see if it is as fun as it sounds. Plus a season pass (we got the 4-pack with Stephanie and Jade) is only $20 more than a one-day ticket. So we'll see how much we go this summer. It certainly takes the pressure off staying way longer than you want on a single day to get your $45 worth.

Well I'm exhausted and have to be at work bright and early tomorrow. Besides, 2 hour season finale of Grey's Anatomy tonight!!!!
